Launch of Cairo Center and organization of three workshops:
Virtual Activism formally launched the Center for Knowledge
Society which is its branch center in Cairo, Egypt in June
04, following the launching of its website mengos.net in
January 04. One of its first projects is a series of three
workshops that were conducted in an informal settlement
in Cairo, with ten participants in each workshop. Each workshop
lasted 2 days, and participants learnt how to access the
Internet, send email, conduct searches for relevant information,
and access useful sites. The workshop instructor was Doaa
Hassan, the Center's asisstant.
